Lisa S. Powell, age 48, of Maumee, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 19, 2020 at home. She was born August 22, 1971 to Kenneth Phillips and Joyce Hancasky in Joliet, Illinois. Lisa graduated from Springfield High School in 1989. She enjoyed shooting billiards, was an avid reader, cooking and spending time at the beach. Lisa loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. Her sense of humor, smile and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her mom, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Phillips. Lisa is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, John Powell; children, Brandi (Brian) Simmons, Gregory (Morgan Teal) McGowan and Mikayla Powell; grandsons, Gregory “Bubby” Jr. and Dillon McGowan; dad, Kenny Phillips; step-father, John Hanton; siblings, Angel (Ron Richards) Minnick, Heather (Debbie Matthews) Minnick, and Ryan (Kristi) Minnick; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900) with Memorial Services beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider ASPCA or Great Strides CF Foundation (www.cff.org)
