Venona M. Shepherd, age 83, of Toledo, passed away peacefully January 20, 2020 at the Franciscan Care Center. Venona was born July 28, 1936 in Toledo to Arthur and Venona (Lemerand) Roschman. Family was very important to her, she adored her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed listening to Christian Gospel music, especially the Gaither Family. She also enjoyed traveling to California with her sister and aunt.

In addition to her parents, Venona was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Everett Shepherd, sons; Bobby and Billy Shepherd, daughter, Linda Shepherd, sister, Deanna Young and special aunt Betty Lemerand. She is survived by her son, Jerry (Deb) Shepherd, daughters; Cheryl Canter, Sharon Shepherd, Dawn (Doug) Shepherd-Pant, April Shepherd, 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, brother, Jan (Barb) Varner, sister Gail (Kenneth) Blount.

The family will receive guests Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by burial at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Toledo Humane Society in Venona's memory.
