Joyce attended to Whitmer High school and graduated from Stautzenberger College with honors with an associate degree in medical assisting in June of 1988. Although she chose to pursue a career working at Kroger for the last 16 years before her retirement in March of 2016. Joyce was a member of the UFCW 75 and had a definite passion for the people she interacted with in her time there. Joyce will be remembered for her love of her family and especially her grandchildren. Joyce was an avid fisherman and loved spending her time at East Harbor State Park with her children doing just that. Joyce was an avid reader and always loved a good novel. She is going to be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Christopher R. Carey and Daughter Valarie R. Brewer, Grandchildren: Cameron and Brendan Carey and Elise Overy. Mother Joyce A. McLennan, Sisters, Valarie Coopshaw (Mike) and Diana Donovan Brothers: Kurt (Mary) McLennan, Keith (Pat) McLennan, Kess (Karen) McLennan and Kirby McLennan. Nephew, Alexander Coopshaw and Nieces Allyson and Arianna Coopshaw, and Ashleigh and Madison Brunt and special cousin Bobby Werner.
She was proceeded in death by her Brother, Graham E. Seawick and Father Ralph A. McLennan.
Family will receive guests on Monday March 25, 2019 from 4-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer-Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with her Funeral Service starting at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
