Ernestine “Ernie” Dixon, age 84, of Toledo, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born on April 22, 1934 to Ernest and Mary (Revels) Dixon in Lake Providence, Louisiana. Ernie worked at the Holiday Inn as a Chef for 35 years before retiring. She was an avid bowler for many years. Ernie enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling and had a sense of humor. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Ernie is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Arrington; grandchildren, Reggie, Andre, Angela (Roy), Anissa (Nicholas Sr.) and Robert; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Anissa “Nina”, Jordan, Romandre, Andre, Ava, Joshua, Drevian, Nicholas Jr. “Nico” and one on the way; 2 great-great-grandsons; brother, Eddie (Sammie) Dixon, Sr.; longtime best friend, Donnie Stiffler; special cousins, Laura Jones, of Lake Providence, LA and Rev. Fred Revels; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Friday, January 18, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
