Frank Marshall age 67 passed away on December 7, 2018 at Grant Hospital in Columbus Ohio. He was born on August 26, 1951 to the late Doris Grady Marshall and living parent Leon Marshall Sr. of Columbus Ohio.

Frank drove for Frontline Trucking Company for two years and was a Licensed Caterer for many years. Known for his ability to cook the best ribs and smoked meats on his smoker, where he would go to the people, fairs, and companies that patronized him. He had a special sauce and was also known for his salmon patties in Columbus, Ohio and surrounding areas. In the 60’s frank had a well-known band known as Frank & The Soul Primes. The band was very popular and played all around Michigan and many cities in Ohio. Frank loved to listen to Jazz music and his favorite band was Frankie Beverly and Maze. He loved wearing caps and hats and had a huge selection.

Frank would go to the homeless shelter and cook for free for the residents who were always happy to enjoy his delicious meals he prepared. Frank had a love of traveling. He traveled many states by train and car visiting his family and many friends. Frank was a member of New Generations Church in Columbus, Ohio where Rev. Maurice Jackson on Cleveland Ave. is the pastor. Frank played drums at many churches in the past, expressing his love for music.

Left to cherish his memory is his father Deacon Leon Marshall Sr. (Freda), son Frankie Murphy of Detroit Michigan, daughter Torya L. Murphy Detroit Michigan, Brothers: Mitchell Marshall, Elmer Smith, Minister Chester Marshall (Valerie) of Columbus, Ohio, Minister Leon Marshall Jr. (Wanda) of Columbus, Ohio, Antonio Beckett. Sisters: Delores M. Bates, Lucille Smith of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Theresa Crowley (Marlow), Elizabeth Haithcock, Tonya Marshall, Karen and Sharon Marshall and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Grady Marshall and brother, Jackie Marshall and sister, Geraldine Washington Marshall.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer - Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will be Friday, December 21, 2018 at Friendship Baptist Church, 5301 Nebraska Ave., Toledo with Visitation from 10 - 11:00 a.m. at church. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
