Lenda M. Cordell
1954 - 2018

Lenda Marie Cordell, age 64, of Temperance, MI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 24, 2018. Lenda was born March 8, 1954 in Euclid, Ohio to Robert and Dorothy (Chester) Kelley.

Lenda was a true reflection of Christ. She started her walk with the Lord in November 1980. Her devotion to the Lord was her top priority and she loved sharing the gospel and her personal testimony. Throughout the years she served in many ministries, but teaching on prayer was her passion.

Lenda was a devoted mother to her four children and raised them to love the Lord and serve others. Her children were everything to her. Lenda was determined to provide them with a comfortable life, so she decided to further her education. She graduated with a Health Science Degree from Lakeland Community College and obtained her license as a Respiratory Therapist in 1991. Lenda enjoyed her career as a Respiratory Therapist for 27 years and worked for multiple hospitals and healthcare facilities. She was most proud of becoming accredited for Pulmonary Rehabilitation while she worked at St. Charles Hospital in 2004. A few years later she became the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Director and developed Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs at both Heartland of Oregon and Orchard Villa, where she ultimately retired from in 2018. Lenda was highly respected in the health care community and was frequently complimented on the quality of care she provided to her patients.

Lenda married the love of her life, Mark E. Cordell, on February 15, 1999. They were happily married for 19 years. Lenda and Mark had many great adventures together including camping, travel, and photography. Lenda and Mark visited many places throughout the United States. Alaska was among her favorite destinations, she was captivated by its raw, natural beauty.

A house full of family, food, singing, and of course Tim Horton’s coffee, made Lenda most happy. She found great delight in decorating her home for each passing season, but the most meaningful season was the Fall. Lenda was invigorated by the canopy of the forest leaves transforming from a vibrant green to the reflection of all the colors in a sunsets palette. She loved the heavy cologne of hardwood fires that filled the crisp cool air, but most of all it was the time of year she set apart to give thanks and glory to God for the life He saved her from and for the promises of what was to come.

Her story began with Christ in November as a single mother starting life over with three children and one on the way, her life’s work was completed on November 24, 2018 with four children by her side, and a husband who loved her as Christ does His church. She peacefully stepped into glory as a woman of high value whose children call her blessed and her husband praised her.

In addition to her parents, Lenda was also preceded in death by her Brother, Michael Ramian. She will be greatly missed by her Husband, Mark E. Cordell; Children, Randal Butler, Lynette (Todd) Bobak, Pamela (Shane) Calkins, Scott (Leanna) Butler, Ryan (Lyn) Cordell, Kristine Cordell, Jennifer Cordell; Mother-in-Law, Audrey and Father-in-Law James Cordell; Siblings, Brenda Vierling, Robert (Denise) Kelley Jr., Rose (Steve) Seidel, David Kelley; Sister-in-Law, Beth (Brad) Robinson; Grandchildren, Sierra, Makaila, Logan, Madison, Alexis, Dylan, Lauren, Wade, Ella, Sophia, Samuel, Hailey, Logan, Braden; Great-Grandchildren, Maverick, Ezra; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
