Beverly M. “Bev” DeVries, age 87, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Monday, August 6, 2018 at her son’s home in Temperance, Michigan. She was born May 25, 1931 to Edward and Leona (Kachenmeister) Nelson in Toledo. Bev was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Denny Hamlin. She loved dogs and was always remembered for being a mom to everyone.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister H. Jean Hill. Bev is survived by her children, Deborah (Fred) Hunke, Janet (Robert) Joyce and Jeffrey DeVries; grandchildren, Lorraine (Kevin), Rushel, Sarah, Matthew, Jake, Julia and Alexander (Natalie); and great-grandchildren, Charissa, Alyssa, Trent, Ashten, Braxtin, and Bentley James.
There will be no visitation per Bev’s request. A Memorial Service to Celebrate her life will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Stateline Community Church, 6202 N. Detroit Ave., Toledo, OH 43612. Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions in honor of Bev are asked to consider the Toledo Humane Society or Save-A-Pet.
