Walter Dibert, age 89, of Toledo, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 8, 2018. He was the loving husband of Irene (Stender) Dibert for 70 years. He was born September 30, 1928 to Herbert and Katherine Dibert in Erie, Michigan.

Walt was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church over forty years and was active in many different church ministries. He was employed at Kistler Ford as a mechanic specializing as a transmission technician for 47 years, retiring in 1992. With his wife he enjoyed spending several winters in Florida and getting together with family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Irene and five of their six children: Walter Dibert, Ruth (Kenny) Garvin, Janis (Roger) Crowell, John (Diane) Dibert and Kathy (David) Morris. Walt was blessed to have twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by their daughter, Debbie Rodd; daughter-in-law, Karen Dibert; brother, Herbert Dibert and sisters, Dorothy DeCant, June Folk, Faye Cribbs and Betty Hubbard.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Walt's Funeral Service which will begin at 11:00 a.m. in Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 Laskey Road, Toledo. Burial will be at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Emmanuel Baptist Church or Emmanuel Christian Schools.
