Roy Pickett, age 83, of Toledo, passed away March 2, 2018 at UTMC. He was born July 10, 1934 in Double Springs, Alabama to Blanton and Birdie (Cornelius) Pickett. Roy was employed with Interlake Iron for more than 37 years. He was member of the Iron Workers Union Local 7279, he served as the president for many years. Roy was an ordained minister serving at Bellevue Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of Old Fashion Missionary Baptist, Paragon Masonic Lodge 788, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Roy is survived by his daughters, Yvonne M. Albrecht, Rebecca S. Langley, Lori (Grady) Hall, Susan L. Hardy, Amenda Elaine Pickett; son, Roy Shane Pickett; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and long-time friend, Kathie Pickett. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his wives, Johanna and Ollie; a daughter, Virginia Gail and 15 brothers and sisters.

The family will receive guests Monday March 5, 2018, from 3 – 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. with funeral services following at 12:00 noon at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Burial will follow at Springfield Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital in Roy's memory.
