He was the owner of Schorling Automotive and ran his business for over 46 years. He was given the nick name “Crankshaft” for his skills in building motors. Rick would travel around the Ohio, Michigan and Indiana region for car races. He loved machining on high performance engines for his customers. Rick was an excellent craftsman, winning Engine Builder of the year. He had a love for Willy’s Jeeps, NASCAR, the Toledo Rockets, traveling and taking care of his fur babies Patches and Pooh Bear.
Left to cherish Rick’s memory his loving wife, of 50 years, Patricia Schorling; children, Richard Schorling, Jr. and Rhonda (Greg) Moore; grandchildren, Austin and Abby Moore; foster sons, Todd Shelton and Brian Berry; brothers, Larry (Janet), Gary (Kathy), Harold (Sandy) and Garold; aunt, Pearl Talmage; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Schorling family would like to thank the support of loyal customers over the years.
The family will receive guests Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) Toledo. Funeral Services will begin Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Donor’s choice, in Rick's memory.
