1922 - 2017

Lee A. Weiser, age 95, of Toledo, passed away November 7, 2017 at Aspen Grove Assisted Living. Lee was born May 19, 1922 in Toledo to Bert and Gartha (Ford) Weiser. During World War II, after 3 unsuccessful attempts at enlisting due to a physical disability, he contributed to the war effort through employment at the American Propeller Plant in Toledo. He later worked at Continental Aviation before 27 years of employment with the Rose Extermination Company of Toledo.

Lee lived life with the utmost enthusiasm and was known for his respect and compassion for others. He was a loving husband, dutiful father, and true friend to all who knew him. He took his citizenship responsibilities seriously and loved the history and diversity of his country.

He is survived by his sons, Neil Weiser of Midlothian, VA and Douglas (Rene) Weiser of Chester, VA; son-in-law, Terry Belcik of Toledo; four grandchildren, Shannon (Steve) Schoen, Brooke Tanner, Sean Weiser and Justin (Jen) Weiser and two great grandchildren, Hannah and Jack Schoen.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucy; daughter, Barbara Belcik; brothers, Ray and Owen; sisters, Alberta Gunter, LaVon Gardner and Willow Everingham.

The family will receive guests Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 3- 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer - Northwest Chapel 4150 W. Laskey Rd., (419-473-0300) Funeral Services will begin Wednesday November 15, 2017 at 10:00 am. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania.
