Mieczyslaw R. "Mike" Zak
1950 - 2015

Mieczyslaw R. “Mike” Zak, age 64, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at St. Anne Mercy Hospital. He was born on August 7, 1950 to Mieczyslaw and Kornelia (Gieszezyk) Zak in Seedrof, Germany. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Special Forces Green Beret 101st Airborne, serving in Vietnam. Mike was employed with Jeep for over 30 years. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and loved his cats. He enjoyed reading the Sunday paper with his daughter Amanda and traveling with his family. Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Jo Zak-Turner. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Margo (Brock) Zak; son, Vincent (Jennabelle) Zak; daughter, Amanda Zak; sisters, Krystine (Don) Murphy, Josephine (Jim Miller) Zak and Connie (Milt) Hunt; nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900) with Funeral Services beginning at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Wounded Warrior Project.
