Robert F. Wekwert, age 72, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at The Toledo Hospital. Robert was born on July 7, 1942 to Helen and Frank Wekwert, who preceded him in death.

A graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1960 and The University of Toledo in 1967, Bob was an avid fan of U.T. sports, especially women’s basketball. He was an usher for 25 years at the Mud Hens and worked at the U.T. football and basketball games. He also made many friends while working in the book department at Media Play until its closing. An expert trivia player, he was also known as a kind and generous man and lover of animals.

Bob is survived by his loving companion of 53 years, Sondra L. Kersey; close friends, Jean and Jim Spencer and many friends and relatives also will greatly miss him.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd. followed by his Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Tony Vera officiating. Inurnment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Toledo Humane Society.
