Terry A. Schlegel, age 61, of Temperance, MI, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 25, 1953 to Alva and Lois “Maxine” Schlegel in Toledo. Terry worked at Riker Products for 38 years as a welder. He enjoyed camping, riding his motorcycle and traveling with his wife and family. Terry loved the time spent with his family and friends, who will deeply miss him.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Esther (Leutz) Schlegel; children, Tim (Christa) Hughes, Michael (Carrie) Herbster, Katherine (Todd) Cramer, Bruce (Sandy) Herbster, Diane (Chuck) Cox, Kevin Herbster, T.J. (Shawn) Singer and Brian (Erica) Herbster; grandchildren, Nicholas, Catie, Benjamin, Nathan, Owen, Brandon, Jesse, David, Zachary, Andrew, Amanda, Eddie, Madisyn, Chloe, Isabelle and Alexander; siblings, Wilma Kastner and Jerry (Sharon) Schlegel; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive guests on Friday from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
