1933 - 2014

Donald C. “Don” Bartelt, age 80, of Coldwater, MI, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 at Community Health Center of Branch County. He was born on December 3, 1933 to Clarence and Catherine Bartelt in Toledo. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He sold Life Insurance and then owned and operated his own TV Repair business for many years. Don also worked at Enterprise Car Rental. He was an avid golfer, he loved living on St. Pete’s Beach, Florida and being on the water. Don enjoyed being partners in crime with his friends, Art Jones, Ron Navarre and Charlie Buchanan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geri Bartelt; son-in-law, Greg Carr; grandsons, Andrew Wiederhold and Alex Walker; great-grandson, Rex Wilson; sister, Jackie Simon. Don is survived by his son, Cliff (Karen) Bartelt; daughters, Chris Carr and Jodi (Chawn) Walker; step-children, Dave (Joyce) Perdeau, Chelle (Eric) Renzhofer, Renee Schrein and Becki (Jim) Anderson; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Albert Bartelt; and many dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Monday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4560 Glendale Ave., Toledo with Memorial Services beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the church. The Newcomer Funeral Home (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
