Harold David Patterson, age 84, of Sylvania, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at home. He was born on February 11, 1930. He was a veteran of the U.S. Military serving his country in WWII. Harold was a Toledo Police Officer retiring as a Captain after 28 years of dedicated service. After retirement, Harold worked at Lion Store in the security department and then he and his wife Alice, managed the License Agency for 8 years and then he went on to work as security for the Toledo Zoo before fully retiring at the age of 82. Harold will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Garnet Patterson; second wife, Alice Patterson; and sister, Vivian Cable. Harold is survived by his loving family, daughter, Lynn (Dudley Benesch) Burton; grandson and caregiver, Patrick “Tim” (Michel Ladriere) McCune; granddaughter, Lyndsey Burton; and many other family members and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Sunday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
