In Memory Of
Timothy "Tim" Pecsenye
1952 - 2016

Timothy “Tim” Pecsenye, age 63, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Toledo Hospital. He was born June 29, 1952 to Steven and LaDonna (Brungard) Pecsenye in Toledo. Tim was a 1970 graduate of Woodward High School. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Siena Heights College and his MBA from the University of Detroit Mercy. Tim drove a hearse for Neville Funeral Home, sold insurance for GBU, was the Employee Benefits Manager at Prestolite, was the Manager of Benefit Systems for Libbey-Owens-Ford, and was the Director of Compensation and Benefits for Intermet Corp. Most recently, Tim was co-host, with Jack Renz, of the German American Hour on WCWA Radio.

He was very involved in the local and international German community. Tim was a District Representative for GBU District 510, Past President and current Vice President of the Toledo Teutonia Maennerchor, past member of the Union, New Jersey Maennerchor, past and current Chair of the German American Festival, current Trustee for the German American Festival Society, past President of the Nord-Amerikanischer Sangerbund, and past President of the Ohio Sangerbezirk. He was a longtime member of Glenwood Lutheran Church. Tim was an avid fan of the Michigan Wolverines. He was a huge foodie and ran social media for Toledo’s Fat Cat Cooking Show.

Tim was the smartest man in the room and the life of the party. He had the kind of intelligence that was so clever and effortless that you didn’t realize he was a brain until the joke was on you. Tim was generous and kind but snarky and cynical. He was an extrovert’s extrovert and loved people. Tim was easy to like, easy to love, and easy to be annoyed with.

Tim is survived by his brother, Steven J. (Sylvia), of Winona, MN; favorite niece, Magda, of Ann Arbor, MI; favorite nephew, Steven M. (Amanda), of Parma, OH; great-nephews, Robert and Thomas; and scores of friends who were like family.

The family will receive guests on Friday from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Glenwood Lutheran Church, 2545 Monroe St., Toledo 43620. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
