Jack R. Henry, age 80, of Temperance, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 23, 1935 to George and Sarah (Bratt) Henry in Toledo, Ohio.
Jack married the love of his life, Janet (Gentry) Henry on June 19, 1959 in Sylvania. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Jack had a wonderful spirit and a great sense of humor, his forte was entertaining family and friends in his home and sharing a good cup of coffee with them. He retired from Johns Manville, prior to that he worked at Libbey Glass and Dana Corporation.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 1/2 years, Janet; son, Robert (Beth) Henry; daughter, Cheryl Ryan (fiancé, Lynn Bishop); precious granddaughter, Kalyn (Anthony) Rozanski; one expected first great-grandchild that Jack was eagerly looking forward to and many in-law's from Janet's side of the family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Vicia McKee and Violet Helen Long.
The family will receive guests on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
