William C. "Bill" Schaffer, age 91, of Point Place, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born on April 25, 1924 in Toledo, Ohio. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He retired from Jones Transfer as a CDL driver in 1989. Bill and his late wife, Chloe enjoyed playing cards with family, friends and various card clubs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Chloe Schaffer; son, Gary Schaffer and grandson, Ronnie King. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Ron (Bonnie) King; grandchildren, Keith, Kelly (Gina), Mark, Karen, Jennifer, Shawn and Heather; sister, Verna; 13 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
