Carl J. Barnt, Jr. age 59, of Toledo, Ohio passed away August 23, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. He was born January 5, 1956 in Toledo to Carl, Sr. and Helen (Olwick) Barnt. Carl was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was employed as an engineer for various companies in Toledo and the surrounding area. Carl enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, boating and hunting. He was known as the “rock and roll” grandpa.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Mary J. Barnt; children, Carl James Barnt-Clark, James (Ondine) Barnt, Stephanie (Matthew) Hericourt, Crystal (Joshua) J. Jankowski and Max Barnt; 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandson; and brother, Orville (Sandy) Barnt and a very loving river family. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his one brother and three sisters.

The family will receive guests Friday, August 28, 2015 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 3:00 pm. at the funeral home with Military Services at 6:00 p.m..

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Carl's memory.
