Elsa W. "Elsie" Johnson, age 87, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at The Toledo Hospital. She was born on October 8, 1927 to James and Sylvia (Cherry) Browning in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee. Elsie married Graden L. Johnson, Sr. on August 7, 1948 in Glasgow, Kentucky and they would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary this Saturday. Most important to Elsie was her family, she loved taking care of her husband, children and spending time with her precious grandchildren. She enjoyed preparing Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners with her special southern recipes and sewing. Her family will always remember her for her nurturing spirit and her smile, she was always smiling and happy.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Graden; children, Graden Johnson, Jr., Jimmy (Stephanie) Johnson and Jean (Eduardo) Ayala; grandchildren, Dawn, Lori and Kelly; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Santos and Elizabeth "Lizzy" and niece, Linda. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marie.

The family will receive guests on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
