Galyna was born in the little picturesque Ukrainian town of Gorshik on September 7, 1939. She was the daughter of Olga and Ivan Baranchuk. Galyna spent most of her life in Kiev, Ukraine working as a beautician and taking care of her family. She enjoyed working outside in her garden, growing flowers and vegetables, cooking tasty meals. She was always energetic, hardworking, kind and tenderhearted person. Galyna lived an active life until she was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2006. Galyna moved to America in 2006 to reunite with her daughter Olga, son-in-law Steven and grandson Rodion.
Galyna will be fondly and lovingly remembered by her daughter Olga, son Oleg, son-in-law Steven, grandsons: Rodion, Dmitriy and Denis, sister Polina and cousin Eva.
The family will receive guests from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Chapel (4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614. tel.419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be at Toledo Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to: ProMedica Ebeid Hospice.
