Louis R. "Lou" Westlund
1934 - 2015

Louis “Lou” Westlund, age 80, of Lambertville, MI, passed away peacefully Friday, March 27, 2015 at Ebeid Hospice Residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 16, 1934 to Hegle and Marceline Westlund in Toledo. Lou was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a Construction Accountant for Owens Illinois for 25 years, which allowed him to travel around the world. Lou was also a Real Estate Appraiser for 30 years, working until very recently, in Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio. He was a longtime member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church. Lou enjoyed vacationing in Florida, building RC planes, creating beautiful stained glass, working in the yard and projects at home.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Richard. Lou is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Linda Westlund; children, Michael (Beth) Westlund, David Westlund, Marty Dix, Julie (Jeremy Mitchell) Zimmerman, Larry (Amy) Huth, Tom (Sandi) Huth, Melissa (Dan Sprague) Aponte, Randy Adkins and Keith (Christine) Adkins; 20 beloved grandchildren, Zachary, Zoe, Nathan, Andrew, Ryan, Jordan, Jazmen, Jae, Jami, Katie, Dane, Lea, Tara, Jena, Mitch, Brandon, August, Madison, Colin and Lyla; 1 great-granddaughter and another on the way; and many dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Sunday (today) from 3 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, 530 Regina Pkwy., Toledo, with visitation one hour prior in church. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
