Betty Jean Schimmel, age 93, of Temperance, was lifted into the Lord's arms on March 21, 2015 to join her husband, Major Carl L. Schimmel, whom she married July 7, 1951. Betty was born March 27, 1921 in Findlay to Ferd and Lola (Mitchell) Insley. She was employed with Sam's Drugs for more than 20 years before retiring. Betty was an active member of Fairgreen Presbyterian Church, a past member of the Eastern Star Stella Chapter, and belonged to the Business Women's Club. Betty was known for reading the newspaper and doing word puzzles.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Carla (Jamie) Kaminski, grandson, Nathan (Diana Avalos) Kaminski, granddaughter, Loren (Chris) Vaughn; great grandson, Dylan Kaminski and special friend, Phyllis Powell.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 10th 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Fairgreen Presbyterian Church. The family will begin receiving guests at 1:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation or Fairgreen Presbyterian Church in Betty's memory.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Hickory Ridge for the wonderful care they gave to Betty. Betty's family would also like to specially thank Dr. Nader Zeitouni, Dr. Bernardo Martinez and the nephrology group for their care and compassion.
