Ardist Carl Lawson, age 85, of Toledo, passed away peacefully March 17, 2015 at St. Charles Hospital. Art was born January 18, 1930 in Chapel Hill, TN to Conley and Nancy "Gertie" (Patton) Lawson. He was a member of the Old Fashion Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Ardist was also preceded in death by his loving wife of many years, Genivieve and his niece Kay Hill. He is survived by his daughters, Donna (Roger) Wagoner and Debbie (Larry) Long, sister, Beatrice Foley, brothers, Bruce (Martha) and Boyd (Jean) Lawson, grandchildren, Kayla, Katelyn, Madison and Adelynn, great grandchildren Sophie, Gavin and Claire, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - NW Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) and on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Ellison Funeral Home, 512 Main St., Williamsburg, KY, (606)-549-2111. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 27, at 1:00 pm at the Ellison Funeral Home in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Interment will take place at New Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Old Fashion Missionary Baptist Church in Ardist's memory.
