He was second-born to Louis and Beatrice (Merrill) Hogan on October 3, 1926. His mother died when he was 3 and his father then married Lola (Frost) Hogan. Norm graduated from Waite High School and entered the U.S. Naval Reserves in 1947. He became employed by L.O.F. where he worked for 32 1/2 years and assisted in opening the very first L.O.F. Credit Union in Rossford, where he as a past treasurer of the Cullet Club. Upon retirement, he became devoted to helping at Conn-Weissenberger American Legion Post where he was the former Sgt. At-Arms and also VFW Post #606. Norm made many friends during the years he was involved in western dance clubs. In his spare time he enjoyed playing euchre, cribbage and a good game of golf.
Left to cherish his memory are his five daughters, Ruth (Ken) Kirk, Nancy Hernandez, Rita (Walt) Abramczyk, Norma (Hank) Norden and Sandy Zbierajewski; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Louis (Sheryn) Hogan of Tavares, FL; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his former spouse, Betty Jane; beloved best friend, Charlene Lord of 30 years; grandson, Richard Davis and brother, Richard (Grace) Hogan.
The family will receive guests on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
