William O. Gladney, 84, passed away on May 1, 2012. He was born on May 26, 1927 to the late Agnes and Joseph Gladney in Toledo, Ohio.

Bill proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII. He also served in the Army during the Korean War. Bill was a member of Conn-Weisenberger American Legion Post 587 and later of Walter Weller American Legion Post 135. He was employed at Toledo Scale and Ford Motor Co.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by brothers, Richard, Guy and Homer. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 56 years, Irene; children, Mary (Bill) Young and Janet (Bernie) Hall; grandchildren, Kevin (Karla) Close, Jennifer (Charlie) Newell, Adam (Tracy) Hall, Beth Masters; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests on Friday from 9:30 -11:30 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900).
