George W. McGuckin Sr., age 73, of Sylvania Township, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Grand Rapids Care Center. He was born on April 16, 1945 to Milton and Beuleh (Parker) McGuckin in Millbury, Ohio. George worked for over 20 years at GM Powertrain. George was a simple man who could always strike-up a conversation with anyone and he liked the outdoors, especially camping and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 34 years, Helen J. McGuckin in 2016 and his siblings. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Christine, Theresa (Kelvin), George, Jr. (Kimberly), Lisa, Cheryl (Roger) and Dan (Katie); grandchildren, Mike, Christopher, Jess, Ronnie, Aylisa, George III, Emily, Molly, Sarah, Steven, Zachary, Eric, Kelly, Samantha, Emaleigh and Tucker; precious great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday on 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
