In Memory Of
Robert Bruce Hurst, Jr.
1956 - 2018

Robert Bruce Hurst Jr. was a servant of God. We lived by dedicating himself to working hard every day to provide for the ones he loved.
He was born to Robert and Shirley Hurst. He was happily married to his wife Bonnie and he loved his children Gabriel, Michael, Theresa, Marie, Charles, Joshua, Tiffany, Tara, Richard and Robert.

Robert lived for his grandchildren, Charles, Caitlyn, Andrew, Makiah, Ivy, Autumn and Quinton

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. – Romans 12:3

Robert was a servant of God and a humble man. He had a strong body by the grace of God and he used it to serve. He worked every day to provide for his family. From before he graduated high school he knew the value of a hard day’s work.

He serviced his country with honor in Navy bringing his love of service with him. He helped save a naval ship from a dangerous fire at sea. He was a hero and we salute him for his service.

Robert had a love of learning new skills. Robert could weld, roof, paint, perform electrical work, and he could even build you a house. All these skills he learned through a lifetime of service. He put blood sweat and tears into every job he had ever performed. One of jobs that truly touched his soul was working at his church serving God by applying these skills.

When his body told him to rest he did not retire. He climbed into a truck and hit the road. He took pride in finding a new way to take care of the ones he loved.

He was always ready to show kindness and love to those around him. He was always there when someone called. He was always ready to be a light when someone was facing a darkness in their lives. He even would sacrifice his own comfort, so others could have more.
Robert will be deeply missed. We his family know he is looking down on us, lending us his strength.

We love you.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer – SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m.
