Michael M. “Mike” Martinez, age 72, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Monday, July 10, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 29, 1945 to Marcelino and Juanita (Morin) Martinez in Toledo. Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mike was a cement mason for over 30 years until his retirement. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening and home projects. Mike was a member of the Maumee American Legion Post #320 and Plasterers and Cement Masons Union Local 886. He was a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Detroit Tigers and Lions. Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Sandra “Gail” Martinez; daughter, Gina Martinez; son, Matthew Martinez; brother, Manuel (Genova) Vasquez; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 4 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
