James Coffin "Jim" Hannum
1940 - 2018

James Coffin Hannum, age 78, of Perrysburg Ohio died on July 6, 2018 at home on the Maumee River, surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was a unique individual gifted with knowledge of machining and metal items of all kinds. He graduated from Rutgers University of South Jersey and was the plant Maintenance Manager for Lehn and Fink Products and Hunt Wesson Foods for over 20 years. He was also an avid hobby machinist who built several working miniature steam engines and contributed technical articles to machinist trade journals. He was always tinkering with something and generally known for his ability to fix anything.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Mary K. Hannum; daughter Beth Bragg; sons Jim Jr. (Cindy), Steven (Maria) and Scott (Renee) Hannum; step children Margret Nicholson and Brian (Maureen) McCarty; sister Mary Ann Creato and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his daughter Shelli Hannum; step-son Daniel McCarty Jr.; grandson Sean Shadix.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 3-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the children of his deceased grandson Sean Shadix through Sun Federal Credit Union in Cindy Hannum’s name.
