John Sickman
1947 - 2018

BIG light went out last night. Big John Sickman departed.

John Sickman didn’t wake from a sound night’s sleep last night (June 17, 2018). Oh the stories he left with us will never be forgotten. Always hunting for the BIG King Salmon and not dropping his line to the bottom of the halibut hole. Always good for a fight with the liberals in the group. Remembered for a full pour and his stories in Baghdad.

John served in the U.S. Army and was a commissioned officer and truly was an “Officer and a Gentleman.” John graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Engineering. He later earned his MBA at the University of Houston. John worked many years in the oil and Gas industry and that job took him all over the world.

John is survived by his wife, Jill; children, Eric (Kelly), Michael George (Leah), Stephen (Kayla); step-children, Drew (Dawn) Arns and Juli (Nick) Freiburger; siblings, George (Susan) and Ellen; grandchildren, Adam, Zack, Ollie, Richie, Lindsey and Owen; also many special friends that stretched across the world, especially the “Stebfest Crew.”

A Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Arbor Hall in Moraine Ohio. 2150, Arbor Boulevard, Dayton, OH 45439. Memorial Service hours will be from 12-3:00 pm. Please join us for light food & Drinks.
