Barbara Beard, age 92, of Sylvania, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 20, 2018 at home. She was born on June 9, 1925 to Stanley and Helen Ralph.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, John Beard. Barbara is survived by her loving children, Lewis (Nancy) Beard and Laurel (Bob) Shamas; grandchildren, Heather (Mike) Shea, Robin (Jeff Giovanatti) Shamas, Rob Shamas and Ashley Shamas; great-grandchildren, Alli, Aiden and Ashtyn; special cousin, R. Louis Scheid; and other cousins and dear friends.

Barbara was a graduate of Capitol University and taught at Old Orchard for many years. Barbara was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Downtown Toledo. She enjoyed spending time at her cottage with her family in Canada.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 4 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services and Interment will be Private.
