Elaine E. Norman, age 84, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Otterbein of Perrysburg. She was born on March 31, 1934 to Bernard and Dorothy (Stahl) Maher in Toledo. Elaine worked for Washington Local Schools and Riverside Hospital for many years before retiring. She was an animal lover, an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing and loved her Detroit Tigers. Elaine was a member of Alexis Congregational Church where she sang in the choir and belonged to the Women’s Fellowship and was head of the Sunshine Committee and was previous Deaconess. Elaine was the most loving, caring, giving and forgiving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, William Norman; brother, Robert Maher; sisters-in-law, Onalee Maher and Juanita Evans; son, Robby Geiner; grandson, Alan Geiner; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Geiner. Elaine is survived by her children, Debbie (Hank) Hoppe, Sherry (Mike) Cornett, Daniel (Lois) Geiner, Jeffrey (Terry) Geiner, Connie Norman and Lou Sannino; many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; best friend of 50 years, Barbara Helbert; canine companion, Missy; and many other relatives and dear friends.
Graveside Services for Elaine were held at Willow Cemetery, 1961 Pickle Rd., Oregon, Ohio 43616. Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, (419-473-0300) Toledo assisted the family with professional services.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the all of the staff at Otterbein of Perrysburg and especially to Ernie, the caring canine, for all of their love, care and support given to Elaine and her family through this difficult time.
