Catherine L. "Cathie" Towle
1943 - 2018

Catherine L. “Cathie” Towle, age 74, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania with her loving daughter by her side. She was born on August 10, 1943 to David and Rowena (Ramseyer) Brandt in Toledo. At the age of 8 months old, Cathie lost her hearing but never let that hold her back. She graduated from DeVilbiss High School and then went on to Floral Arranging School and worked as a Florist at Helmers for many years. Cathie married the love of her life, Douglas Towle in 1965. They loved traveling, camping and boating. She was very active in different yacht clubs, often being involved in the Ladies Auxiliary. Later in life, Cathie became an avid artist; sometimes drawing 3 to 4 pieces a day. This was the legacy she wanted to leave behind. Cathie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cathie is survived by her loving daughter, Wendy (Todd Fix) Towle; grandson, Nick; brother-in-law, James Brug; nieces, Sherry (Kelly) Young and Sandy (Ron) Riddle; great-nephews, Brad (Tricia) Miller and RJ (Trisha) Riddle; great-niece, Heidi (Adam) Kaufman; and cousins, John (David) McCleary and Jenny Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Towle; sister, Carol Brug; nephew, Richard Otis; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Arthur Otis.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
