Ruth Else Koppatschek, age 86, of Sylvania, passed away April 15, 2018. Ruth was born October 2, 1931 in Grunbach, Germany to Fritz and Martha Espenlaub. She owned and operated Central Kennels for more than 45 years. Ruth was an amazing cook and baker, she had a green thumb and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her children, Sonia (Tim) Kohler, Sylvia Koppatschek, Fritz (Cindy) Koppatschek; grandchildren, Laura, John, Clayton, Sage, Brooke and Trixie and extended family in Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and husband, Klaus Koppatschek.

The family will receive guests Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9:30 am - 10:30 am at Newcomer Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:30 am. at the funeral home followed burial at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
