David "Dave" Mounts
1943 - 2018

David "Dave" Mounts, age 74, of Toledo, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. He was born on October 7, 1943 to Johnny Mounts and Sarah "Mickey" Williams in Toledo. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War after being drafted in college. For many years he worked for Roach-Reid Communications as a sales manager, retiring in 2014. Dave was a member of Ashland Avenue Baptist Church for over 50 years where he served as a deacon, trustee and often volunteered. He was a talented musician in his younger years and continued to have a deep interest and passion for music and especially contemporary jazz. Throughout his life he had a mechanical mind and was good with his hands; he enjoyed building model rockets and airplanes.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 45 years, Heidi (Ullom) Mounts; daughters, Dawn Ahrens (Bill) and Carrie (Christopher) Gilmore; grandchildren, Kinsey, Kaitlyn, Lucas, Emily Rose, Elizabeth, Natalie, Shanesse, Christopher O., Giada and Marisa; mother, Sarah "Mickey" Williams; many other relatives including his brother and sisters in law, numerous nieces and nephews; best friends, Ken Shoaf and Jim Fletcher and feline friend, Rowdy. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny and maternal grandparents.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 1-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). His Funeral Service will begin in the funeral home 6:00 p.m.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Ashland Avenue Baptist Church.
