Joseph K. Baun, age 66, of Toledo, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018. Joe was born in Toledo to the late Karl and Janice Baun on December 23, 1951.

Joe attended Central Catholic High School and The University of Toledo. During college Joe worked at Highland Lanes as the Manager. Joe’s banking career spanned 30 years with various financial institutions and he retired from Genoa Bank in 2016.

Joe’s pride and joy was his family and he especially loved Friday nights dancing in the kitchen with Debi listening to Frank Sinatra until the wee hours of Saturday morning. He enjoyed continual learning and sharing his knowledge with others. He took great pride in completing the New York Times and WSJ crossword puzzles.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Debi; daughters, Joy (Al) Seifert and Jennifer (Justin) Stevens-Guyll; brother, James Baun; sister, Anne Showman; grandchildren, Rocky Murry Jr., Morgan (Curtis) Stanfield, Zach Seifert, Kegen Guyll, Scout Guyll and Hunter Guyll and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and niece, Lisa McCray.

The family wishes to thank the following doctors for their compassion, support and excellent care: Dr. Christopher Bates, Dr. Ronald Wainz, Dr. Todd Monroe, Dr. Gustavo Heresi and Dr. Valerie McLaughlin.

The family will receive guests on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 p.m.
