Mary Ellen Fought, of Elizabeth Scott Community died in the early morning hours of January 21st, 2018.
Mary Ellen was born August 23, 1926 in Bradner, Ohio to Russell and Georgiabelle Berridge.
After High School in which she was the 1944 class Valedictorian, she enrolled in the Nurses Training Program at Toledo Hospital. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1947.
Mary Ellen married David E. Fought in April 1948 and continued to work as a Nurse until 1954 when her son was born. She resumed her profession in 1970 and worked until retirement in 1986.
Mary Ellen is survived by her son, Dave (Maureen); brother and sister-in-law, Jim (Mary) Berridge grandchildren, Jessica Fought (John), Erik (Angela) Fought, Chris Fought (Majoury) and Cori (Paul) Lindsay; great-granddaughters, Carina and Mia, great-grandsons, Jack and Rilee. Mary Ellen’s husband preceded her in death August 3rd, 2011.
The family will receive guests Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Interment will be private.
The family would like to thank The Elizabeth Scott Community and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for taking such wonderful care of Mary Ellen in her final months.
