Cecelia L. “Goldie” Shonebarger, peacefully passed away with family by her side, on Thursday, December 7, 2017 one day after her 95th birthday. Goldie was born on December 6, 1922 to Ambrose and Julia Dotzler. On November 27, 1948 she and Joseph T. Shonebarger were wed at Good Shepard Church.

Goldie took great pride in her five children. She was an avid reader and gardener. She was very proud of her rose bushes and her African violets. She had a great love of animals, domesticated and wild. After her husband’s retirement, they spent thirteen years living in Tucson, Arizona which they enjoyed immensely.

Goldie is survived by her five children, Joe Jr. (Diane), Mary Ann Crofoot, Larry (Laurie), Don, Judy (Jim) Kornmeier; her grandchildren, Ed Allen, Jenny Allen (Beverly Monty), Jessica (Jeff) Bair, Becca (Todd) Ehrhardt, Tony (Sarah) Kornmeier, Nick (Becky) Kornmeier, Joe (Sara) Shonebarger, step-grandchild, Joey Jenkins and seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Cecelia was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Shonebarger.

The family will receive guests, Wednesday December 13, 2017 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 10:00 am at Christ the King, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, Ohio (Please meet directly at Church).
