Jose "Frank" Castro
1945 - 2017

Jose “Frank” Castro, age 72, went to the Lord on December 1, 2017. He was born on November 25, 1945 in Laredo, Texas.

Frank’s passion was music; he was well-known as the leader of Conjunto band, “Frank Castro y Los Amigos” that performed in the Toledo and Michigan area. He enjoyed carpentry and welding work, especially projects for his children. Frank will be remembered as a kind-hearted man who was always willing to help others. He was a loving Dad and Grandpa. His family will miss his jokes and adventurous spirit.

Frank is survived by the mother of his children, Elva Garcia; companion, Felisa Lopez; children, Luciano (Nora) Garcia, Frankie Castro (fiancé, Richard McCarthy), Marcus (Tonya) Castro, Atanacia “Tanya” (Steve) Martinez and Jason (Brian) Lutts; siblings, Josephine, Juanita, Jesusa, Pablo “Paul” and Gilbert; grandchildren, Bianca, Luciano Jr. (fiancé, Jamie) , Erica, Marcus Jr.(Briana), Zachary (fiancé, Valerie), Cassidy (fiancé, Mike), Emily, Anastasia, Stephen Jr. and Rojelio; 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Rojelio Garcia; sisters, Maria Reyes and Concepcion “Cruz”.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Scripture Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Rose Catholic Parish, 217 E Front St, Perrysburg. Prayers will begin at the Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. followed by procession to the church.
