Michael C. Polonski, age 90, of Toledo, passed away October 11, 2017 at St Anne's Mercy Hospital. Michael was born December 10, 1926 in Kiev, Ukraine to Constantine and Olga (Turgrinowska) Polonski. He was employed with the Art Iron Corporation from 1970 - 1994 and continued to consult into his late 70's. Michael was a member of the Toledo Tennis Club from 1977-2015 and the United States Chess Federation from 1970-2017. He boxed professionally in Germany in the late 1940's. He was a professional soccer player in the 1940's and 50's in Belgium and Canada, winning the championship of Canada in 1957 as player-coach of the Montreal Ukrainians.

In addition to his parents, Michael was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Rita (Utz) Polonski and daughter-in-law Glenda (Keswell). He is survived by his son, Michael A Polonski, and daughter, Tatianna R. Polonsky, MD.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Drs. Salem and Hazimah, Drs. Zografides and Ariss, Drs. Ahmed and Magsi, as well as all the other wonderful doctors and nurses at Mercy St. Anne Hospital. Additional thanks to Janet Montez-Mellinger who cared for both Michael and Rita.

In accordance with Michael's wishes all services will be private.
