She attended Roy C. Start High School and was a former employee of Schindler Elevator in Holland, Ohio.
Denise believed in living life to the fullest. She was an avid sports fan and loved rooting for her Steelers and Wolverines with her family. Denise’s passions included playing pool, euchre, poker, listening to country music, and attending Country Concert in Fort Loramie, Ohio. Along with spending time with her family she enjoyed spoiling her dogs.
Left to carry on Denise’s memory is her daughter, Joanne (Richie) Todak; fiancé, Vern Smith; siblings, Bonnie (Mark) Grillo, Diane (John) Castellanos, Dennis (Carol) Homer, Debbie Mohler, Donna Hite and Dee Newman; along with many other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Homer; and sister, Darlene Marsh.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the staff and caregivers at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for all of their love, care and support given to Denise and her family through this difficult time.
