Robert attended the First Baptist Church in Holland, Ohio and attended a little school house in Garrett, Indiana. He moved to Ohio in his early 20’s and worked at Libbey Owens Ford Glass for 35 years.
Robert enjoyed traveling the globe with his wife, with Hawaii being their favorite spot. They went annually on vacation to the Great Smoky Mountains every fall for 2 decades. Robert loved Cedar Point even after retirement and he along with his wife went many weekends during the summer. He also loved gardening, making movies and photography.
Robert had a great love for his family and loved spending time with them. He taught his children the true meaning of hard work and right from wrong.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jean Lois Warstler; daughter, Jacquelyn Laberdee; sons-in-law, Michael Laberdee and William Smith; 4 brothers, 2 sisters; granddaughter, Melissa Gault and great granddaughter, Ella Ordway. He is survived by his children, Charlena (James) Mawer, Lorena Smith, Pamela (Carl) Gault and Clifford (Jamie) Warstler; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
The family will receive guests Friday, September 22, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home & Cremation Services - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will be held Friday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the assisted living staff of Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek for their loving care of Robert.
