In Memory Of
Richard C. Schlagheck
1942 - 2017

Richard C. Schlagheck, age 75, died peacefully on Friday, September 15, 2017 with his family surrounding him at Ebeid Hospice. He was born on April 27, 1942 to Chuck and Josie Schlagheck.

Richard was an Optician for over 46 years. For most of those years, he was either a store manager, a district manager or a regional manager. He was good at what he did because he genuinely enjoyed helping people.

But what put the sparkle in his eyes was his family. He was a wonderful husband, a great father and a totally awesome grandpa and brother. Richard was a hero to his daughters often putting their needs well before his own from when they were at a young age. Many memories were made from the annual camping trip with the grandkids. The last words he spoke were to his family and he told them, "I love you."

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Deborah; daughters, Sheri Misson and Traci Vanadisson; grandaughters, Samantha Misson and Morgan Vanadisson; grandson, Tyler Misson and sister, Jan Schlagheck.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). His Celebration of Life will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's name to Ebeid Hospice or Paws & Whiskers Cat Shelter, 32 Hillwyck Dr., Toledo, OH 43615.
