Bob graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1957. After High School he joined the U.S. Air Force and served 4 years of active duty in Communications. Bob worked for 10 years for Interstate MTR and Michigan Transportation as O.T.R. Dispatcher. He joined the U.S. Postal Service in 1973 and carried mail until 2000. In 1989, Bob married Judy Ann Coger, the “greatest woman ever made.” In 2005, Bob and Judy moved to rural Paulding County and spent every winter in Florida. Bob’s main love was reading (only fiction) the Best Seller’s List and also loved Ohio State.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Judy Ann; brothers, Joe and Ron; sister, Joyce Jacobs; daughter, Cassie Whaley; step-children, Rick Coger, Marguerite Bienko; 9 grandchildren and one very special granddaughter and traveling buddy, Amanda Hersch; many great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Eleanor Haas; brother, Gary Haas; sisters, Betty Charles and Pat Granis.
The family will receive guests on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 12-4:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at 4:30 p.m.
Memorial Contributions may be made to: Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
