Courtney Patrice Gibbons, age 27, passed away on August 7, 2017. She was born on March 3, 1990 in Monroe, Michigan.

Courtney adored her family and radiated love. Not only was that love for her family, she had many friends and no one was a stranger to her. Her smile lit up a room and her personality was addictive. She had a passion for “the spoken word.” Courtney received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Michigan State University. She was accepted into The New School University in Manhattan to pursue her Master in Poetry. Well-noted Professors and Poets complimented her creativity and delivery.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Annette and Preston Gibbons; grandparents, John and Verbena Douglas; aunts, Jean Brown, Mary (Bob) Noble, Andrea Patrice Summers and Jackie (Kevin) Gordon; uncles, Willie D. (Lois) Gibbons and Michael (Pam) Douglas and a host of cousins, friends and other relatives.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo 43614 (419-381-1900). The Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. First Congregational Church, 2315 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo 43620.
