In Memory Of
John F. Eckhart
1969 - 2017

John F. Eckhart went home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2017. John was born July 26, 1969 to Ronald Eckhart and Kathleen Jeffreys in Toledo, Ohio.

John played in Little League for four seasons in Maumee, Ohio. He also was on the wrestling team at Maumee High School. John attended Kent State University and The University of Toledo. Later John moved to Columbus, Ohio and met the mother of his boys, Jennifer Holdren. John took pride in being a stay at home dad of his two children Jackson, age 6, and Riley, age 4.

Left to cherish John’s memory are his parents, Ronald Eckhart and Kathleen (Ed) Jeffreys; children, Jackson and Riley Eckhart; siblings, James (Linda) Eckhart, Michael Eckhart, Kathryn Eckhart, and Colleen (Tom) Lopez; in addition to aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.

Family will be receiving guests Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) Toledo, Ohio. Prayer Service will begin at 3:00 p.m.

In honor of John’s memory contributions can be made out to Jennifer Holdren for a scholarship fund to be set up for John’s children.

John did not choose addiction. He fought it for years. We, as a family, wish to make a statement to honor his life. We share his struggle in the hope that lives may be saved, and his death will not have been in vain. If anyone you know is suffering, please call Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services. 1-800-662-4357.
