In Memory Of
Verla M. Beringer
1922 - 2017

Verla M. Beringer passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017 at the age of 94. She was a fiercely independent woman that remained in her own home until just a few days before her death. Grandma loved her rose bushes and flowers; her yard is filled with them! She was still on a quest for the perfect rose bush – beautiful flower with wonderful smell. She also loved telling stories (the more outrageous the better), reading (“the library needs to get some more books, I’ve read them all!”), and playing cards and Yahtzee (no sore losers allowed, she will beat you).

Verla was predeceased by her husband, Bob Beringer; her friend, Bill Lingnell; her son, Don Beringer; daughter, Carolyn Crawford; grandson Craig Beringer and many others. She is survived by her three grandchildren, Robin, Bobby (Laurie) and Linda (Steve); many great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law and dear friend, Sheila (Mike) McCormick. There are other family members and close friends that helped lift grandma’s spirits throughout her life and especially near the end, especially Ginny Martin, Kelly (Bob) Ahrens and Diana French.

The family will receive guests, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Maumee.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the excellent care that Verla received. We would also like to thank Senior Helpers and Ohioans for helping her stay in her own home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Verla's memory.
