Sharon R. "Rosebud" Matuszewski
1959 - 2017

Sharon R. “Rosebud” Matuszewski, age 57, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, with loving family by her side. She was born on October 26, 1959 to Richard J. and Josephine (Nowak) Matuszewski in Toledo.

Sharon attended St. Hedwig and Woodward Schools, formerly of Polish Village. She worked for KeyCorp Bank (formerly Toledo Trust, Trust Corp., Society Bank) Associates Finance and most recently University of Toledo the past 15 years. Sharon was fortunate enough to travel to many of her dream places, her favorite beach destinations. She enjoyed camping, cooking, plants, “shopping”, her work, she was an avid book reader, and attended Cedar Creek Church. Sharon always had a smile and a joke.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her uncle and aunt, Tony and Ann Raczkowski; brother-in-law, Ken Miller; and beloved canines, Buddy and Romeo. Sharon is survived by her loving siblings, Kathleen Miller, Gary Matuszewski, Rick (Vicki) Matuszewski, Monica (Chris) Urbanski, Mary (Ron) Szychowski and Anne Self; 11 nieces and nephews; 8 great-nieces and nephews (whom especially brought her great joy); her U.T. family; and many special friends.

A very special thank you to the many Angels in disguise that helped Sharon through her long journey.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life for Sharon at PRCUA Hall, 5255 N. Detroit Ave., Toledo, OH. The family asks that you wear casual summer attire, with your Flip Flops, in honor of Sharon. The Newcomer Funeral Home – NW Chapel (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN), 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Ste. 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.
